College students Julia (Savvy Shay) and Erin (Taylor Jabara) are creating a criminal profile for their criminology class and meet with Cole (Jacob Taylor), a man who claims he is falsely imprisoned for a crime he did not commit, as part of their project. Julia and Erin are quickly engrossed with Cole’s charming demeanor and compelling story. But when the girls’ professor, Dr. Stone (April Martucci), learns who the subject of their research is, she cautions Julia and Erin to be mindful of Cole’s infamously manipulative tactics to gain researchers’ trust in order to prove his innocence. Shaken by their professor’s warning, Julia and Erin agree to distance themselves from Cole—until he’s released from prison based on new DNA evidence and shows up at their school. Initially shocked by Cole’s appearance, the girls let their guard down again, and Cole draws them into a dangerous love triangle. But when Erin suddenly goes missing under mysterious circumstances, Julia starts a frantic search to find her friend and discover once and for all if Cole is truly innocent, or if he’s been guilty all along.
